Fondly known as Mrs. Chella Boomi

A lifetime devoted to nursing — and to the people it serves.

Dr. Krishnan Chellammal is a senior nursing and healthcare leader whose career spans more than 35 years of clinical care, nursing administration and hospital management.

Over these years, she has held senior leadership positions in some of the most respected healthcare institutions in India and abroad — Apollo Hospitals, Apollo Proton Cancer Centre, Kauvery Hospital, Kovai Medical Center and Hospital (KMCH), Sri Ramachandra Medical College (SRMC), Dr. Mehta’s Hospitals and King Fahd Specialist Hospital.

As Chief Nursing Officer and Group Head – Nursing at KMCH, she led a team of nearly 1,500 nursing professionals across the group. Earlier, as Nursing Director and Chief Nursing Officer at Kauvery Hospital, Chennai, she helped build its nursing services from the ground up, beginning at the project stage.

She holds an M.Sc. (Nursing), an MBA in Health Care Services from Anna University and a Ph.D. in Hospital Management from Bharathiar University. Her contribution to the profession has been recognised with the Excellence in Nursing Award from the Association of Healthcare Providers (India) – AHPI.

At Samara, she brings these decades of experience to a single purpose — care that is safe, compassionate and dignified, where professional healthcare standards meet the warmth and personal attention of a caring environment.
